Testimonials
"Michael Sherlock recently addressed our Franchisee meeting and provided an exceptional lecture. His considerable knowledge and experience ensured that the Franchisees were immediately able to relate to all issues that he covered. Michael’s style of delivery is very engaging, and within a short period of time, had completely won over the room. I would strongly encourage any company to retain Michael for their next meeting, and I will certainly be requesting Michael to conduct another valuable session again soon."
Dom Cornwell, General Manager Retail Operations, Noodlebox, Parkwood
I really enjoyed hearing you speak about your experiences, you are a very enjoyable and engaging speaker with a great story to share.
Jason Travis , Managing Director, Go Global,
Michael Sherlock is a presenter with a unique business background. Whilst it’s fairly commonplace for businessmen and women to experience boom and bust, it is relatively unusual to experience at least some of this under the guidance of and working with a Yoga ‘Guru’. Michael’s presentation at our Business Insights Seminar was insightful, engaging and humorous. It was also ideally placed to meet the needs of the Gold Coast business landscape with Michael’s strong background in retail and franchising, through the spectacular success he and his team achieved at Brumby’s bakeries.
Dan Sloan, Marketing Officer, Southern Cross University,
Michael attracted 150 guests at a breakfast hosted by the Townsville Chamber of Commerce for the launch of the North Queensland Small Business and Franchise Expo. Michael had a casual presentation style which drove his ‘can do’ message for today’s tough business environment. He worked well with the media and the Chamber received good exposure from this event.
John Carey , Presedent, Townsville chamber of commerce,
I enjoyed your presentation at your book launch last Thursday which was co-hosted by Grant Thornton and Mills Oakley Lawyers. Thank you for taking the time to talk us through the story of Brumby's and your own career accomplishments. Your speech was entertaining, amusing and very informative. You had the audience hooked with your humorous anecdotes and honest accounts of the challenges faced by both yourself and the Brumby's business. A great business success story.

Michael and Alan’s presentation last week was highly astute as well as entertaining. Michael has a natural style which the audience relates to. This, along with his great sense of humour and thought-provoking stories, ensures a highly enjoyable presentation. I learnt a lot about business from this presentation and the insights from JUMPSHIFT. I highly recommend people take the opportunity to listen to Michael relate the journey of Brumby’s – you won’t be disappointed.
Julie Pigdon, Business Development Executive, Team Management Systems,
Our client was looking for a speaker to both entertain and engage their staff as part of a broad cultural change program. We used a variety of speakers over a number of months and our client agreed Michael was the most entertaining and interesting of them all. Michael’s real difference is his ability to seamlessly mix his incredible life story with some practical and informative insights into his career as one of Australia’s most successful retailers.
Ben Ready, Director, Crook Publicity,
The success of the event has lead to a steady stream of complementary emails from satisfied delegates directly attributable to the excellent quality of the presentation.
John Lunny, State Presedent Queensland, Australian Human Resources Institute,

I found Michael very inspiring to listen to, due to his laid and humble demeanor and also from his approach to his team and spirit / ethics. His tips on PR were very good and I enjoyed listening to him overall.
Attendee Feedback, Franchise Council of Australia Update Breakfast,
Michael's transformational leadership skills are clearly evident as he reveals the inside story of the development of one of Australia's household franchise brands from a social enterprise in the 70's to a listed entity today. His strategic business focus resonates with any business owner or manager who understands that good businesses are built with great people and excellent management. Michael delivers a clear message that successful business is about a continuous process of improvement that is purposeful, focused and gets the best out of all involved.
Jason Gehrke, Director, Franchise Advisory Centre,
We had excellent feedback on your keynote address - the content, visuals, personal insights, honesty and hands on understanding earned great respect from our audience. Most importantly you garnered trust, spoke to, rather than at, the audience and with a sense of humour - a rare combination.
Rayma Creswell, CEO, Australian Newsagents,

The Institute of Business Leaders thanks you most sincerely for featuring as a Guest Speaker at our Corporate Club Luncheon on Wednesday 12th October at Hilton Brisbane. I have much pleasure in enclosing a copy of your presentation for your records. We received substantial feedback from Members and their Guests on your presentation on the history and success of Brumby’s Bakeries. We all thoroughly enjoyed your presentation and are pleased that we have access to Business Leaders like yourself. Once again thank you and I wish you all the best for the future.
Don Norton, Director, Institute of Business Leaders,
I wished to express my sincere gratitude for providing your time to present at our recent Strategy Group CEO Symposium. The feedback gathered over the last two weeks has been that the event was an overwhelming success for all involved with both delegates and sponsors commenting that it was one of the most informative they had participated in. We put this success directly on the calibre of the speakers. You generously gave time to share personal experiences and insights into raising the standards of Australian business and for that we are extremely grateful. The feedback from the delegate evaluation forms and in speaking with attendee’s during and after the event was that the Brumby’s Bakery session was one of great value, it provided inspiration and idea’s that could be implemented into their own businesses. The style of the presentation was informative and perfect for our CEO audience, with comments that the session was one of the highlights of the event. I hope that you also found the event of benefit through the networking; maybe even sparking a few ideas from our other presenters and that you enjoyed your time in Hobart. Many thanks once again for your time and involvement in this years Symposium and I look forward to following the continued success of Brumby’s Bakery and working with you on future events.
Craig Roberts, Director, Strategy Group,
I would like to warmly thank you for giving up your morning to be the Guest Speaker at the Ryan Small Business Networking Breakfast on Friday, 5th May, 2006. Your contribution as the guest speaker was very deeply appreciated. Your address was informative and insightful and I personally enjoyed learning about the story behind Brumby’s Bakeries success. We have received very positive feedback from the breakfast and I have no doubt important contacts were established and furthered during the morning. I also hope the experience was beneficial to Brumby’s Bakeries in promoting the company. Once again, thank you for making our Networking Breakfast such a success. I look forward to catching up with you again soon.
Michael Johnson MP, Federal Member for Ryan, Michael Johnson,
The Brumby's Conference held in Sydney last week was great, Glenda and I really enjoyed it, the social and entertainment events were fun and we learnt a lot both from the conference speakers and the many franchisees and suppliers we met. This is the fourth conference Glenda and I have attended and each one seems to improve on the previous one. Congratulations Michael on your achievements as CEO of Brumby’s, the organization has made great strides under your leadership, we are certainly sorry to see you leave and we wish you and Jenny all the very best in your new ventures. It has been a privilege to work with you and I hope our paths cross sometime in the future.
