Four Tips For Franchise Site Selection

Centre Franchise Faculty member and Adjunct Professor Michael Sherlock shares his top four insights into franchise site selection, based on more than 30 years in franchising.
Michael says, when selecting a new franchise site it's important to have an understanding of your product and where it works best.
This means if you already have existing sites, then you need to analyse your most successful ones and determine what characteristics make those successful.
If you're just starting out you'll need to consider what demographics your product or offering is most likely to appeal to and work back from there until you have data from a few different sites to analyse.
When Michael is assessing franchise sites there are four key aspects he also considers:
- Access,
- Exposure,
- Tenancy Mix, and
- Ant Trail.
